POWER SUPPLY |
|
In order to supply electricity to on-board equipment - telecommunications and navigation instruments, lighting, water-heater - the Breitling Orbiter 3 capsule has five lead batteries able to supply daily power requirements. The batteries are recharged by solar panels mounted on a structure hanging under the gondola, as was the case during the Breitling Orbiter 2 flight. |
